Serenity Springs Recovery Center (SSRC) is currently seeking therapists experienced in Substance Use Disorder. The therapists provide clinical support and intervention to adult males with an identified substance abuse diagnosis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with patients to complete all intakes, admissions, discharges, transfer paperwork and documents patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups.
  • Completes patient psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within the required time frame as well as identifies any clinical/case management needs and works to address those needs.
  • Performs individual, group, and family counseling as required as well as direct one-on-one patient counseling through individual or group counseling.
  • Reports patient abuse, neglect, exploitation and grievances as required.
  • Educates patient in all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.
  • Ensures compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 (Federal Confidentiality Regulations) and 45 CFR, Parts 160 & 164 (HIPAA)
  • Is responsible for obtaining or maintaining proper licensure and/or certification according to specific state requirements.
  • Actively participates in preparation for surveys and inspections conducted by TJC, CARF, DCF, and any other agency site visits as dictated by state laws or regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure in the state of Florida to include ICADC, MCAP, CAP or Fla eligible.
  • 5 years of experience supporting individuals in a residential substance abuse capacity.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office, and Apple iOS.

Pay: Commensurate with experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing participates in the promotion and restoration of patients’ heath, wellness and recovery, whilst collaborating with the medical group and multidisciplinary team members to provide optimum support to patients.
  • Provide compassionate and individualized care by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and families.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against client care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse act, and other governing agency regulations
  • Medication management including controlling, administering, documenting, educating patients, destruction and accounting for all medications including over the counter (OTC) medications.
  • Monitor and track lab orders, outside consults and appointments, and individual patient contacts.
  • Obtain and record vital signs in the EMR system.
  • Perform appropriate assessments such as CIWA, and COWS and administer drug and alcohol screening/ tests and Covid testing, when indicated, follow facilities protocols for interventions.
  • Perform patient intakes, which includes consents, assessments under the direction of the Director of Nursing, screenings, health surveys, questionnaires, and procedures.
  • Provides pertinent communication to the Director of Nursing regarding patients status, abnormal laboratory results and any areas of concern.
  • Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures.
  • Recognize crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions, utilizing de-escalation techniques and contacting clinical staff as needed to intervene in situations requiring professional support, increased intervention, or increased level of care.
  • Coordinate with other agencies, community resources and outreach programs regarding specified care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation and administrative functions.
  • Effectively communicate with individuals, groups, leadership team and the medical/ treatment team, which encompasses diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, substance abuse, socioeconomics, education levels, etc.
  • Assure completion of shift assignments and tasks prior to reporting off duty.
  • Perform other related duties as may become necessary or as instructed by the Director of Nursing and the Executive Team.
  • Complete agency courses on Ethics, HIPAA, Universal Precautions, and any other training required by DCF/JCAHO/CARF.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Practical Nursing or equivalent
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Florida
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Some knowledge of the recovery lifestyle and 12-step program preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Computer literacy and excellent telephone/ email etiquette.
  • Proficient in use of computer programs including EMR, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs.
  • Must possess a sincere desire to serve the chemically dependent client.
  • Must possess the willingness to work as a member of a team.

  • Medication monitoring for patients while following medical policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with other agencies, community resources and outreach programs regarding specified care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation and administrative functions.
  • Effectively communicate with individuals, groups and the medical/ treatment team, which encompasses diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, substance abuse, socioeconomics, education levels, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a patient treatment schedule.
  • Monitor and report all client challenges to the clinical team.
  • Recognize crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions, utilizing de-escalation techniques and contacting clinical staff as needed to intervene in situations requiring professional support, increased intervention, or increased level of care.
  • Coordinate daily facility operations, including required monitoring, walkthroughs, and room searches of facility and patients, inspecting for contraband in accordance with program needs and per facility policy.
  • Transport clients to access services and appointments as authorized by program needs and treatment plan. Courier patient necessities to and from the facility, including prescription medication.
  • Administer drug and alcohol screening/ test as needed and authorized by clinical staff.
  • Receive and refer telephone calls to clinical staff, admission staff as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Some college-level coursework preferred; AND/OR at least six months related work experience in behavioral health or substance abuse preferred.
  • Some knowledge of the recovery lifestyle and 12-step program preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Computer literacy and excellent telephone/ email etiquette.
