Gregory Phillips is a Masters Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) and the Lead Therapist at Serenity Springs Recovery Center. He grew up in Lasalle-Peru, Illinois, a small town south of Chicago. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Southern Illinois and his Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University. Aside from his individual counseling, Greg runs an outstanding therapy group for the men’s residential addiction treatment program. His work at Serenity Springs is different because we allow clients to address issues beyond alcohol and drug use.
“Serenity Springs places more emphasis on focusing on the future rather than dwelling on the past. We also focus on the strengths of the clients rather than the defects or weaknesses.”
Greg really enjoys working in a place, knowing that the staff truly cares about the clients and wants to make a difference in each one of their lives. Greg is coming up on eight years of continuous sobriety in June. He feels that he must make a conscious effort to give back and remind himself where he came from to stay strong in his sobriety. Greg has a three year old son and five year old daughter and really enjoys spending quality time with them. He also loves being outdoors where he camps, fishes, and plays a number of sports.
